Job summary

Jobtailor in Irvine, CA is seeking an experienced software integration engineer to own end-to-end bring-up for automotive software, develop test plans, and define integration activities for new features.

You will triage and diagnose field issues, work across ECUs and software domains, and push for stable, test-driven releases, using Python and C/C++ and tools like Vector CANalyzer, PCAN, and CANape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in CS/CE/EE/ME/SE or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience with control systems; automotive or aerospace preferred.
• Hands-on experience with bus monitoring tools (Vector CANalyzer, PCAN, or equivalent).
• Experience with software calibration tools (Vector CANape or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of electromechanical systems and EV subsystems.
• Proficiency in Python and C/C++ and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on code changes and develop and execute test plans for new features and improvements to the software stack.
• Own end-to-end software bring-up for the domain group from early prototypes through launch.
• Define and execute integration activities for new features.
• Lead diagnosis of field issues and drive cross-functional resolutions.
• Triage, debug, and perform root-cause analysis on complex system-level integration issues spanning multiple ECUs and software domains.
• Collaborate with architecture, platform, and application developers to define and resolve software dependencies.
• Drive automation pipelines for vehicle software validation.
• Gather data from embedded communication systems (CAN, Ethernet) and cloud-based vehicle telemetry.
