Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced prototype engineer in Irvine, CA to design and build development bucks, mules and benches and lead integration of new components and software into test assets.

You will collaborate with software and hardware teams to mature proof-of-concepts, test performance of early prototypes, and execute concept validation for new architectures. Travel may be required; US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in electrical, mechanical, automotive systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with automotive systems.
• Hands-on experience with early prototypes.
• Familiar with software development processes and debugging.
• Familiar with ECU development and debugging.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and build of development bucks, mules, and benches.
• Lead integration of new components and software into test assets.
• Work hands-on with early prototype integration.
• Test performance of early prototypes.
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to mature concepts.
• Execute proof of concepts to validate new architectures.
• Integrate, commission, and support early mules, bucks, benches.
• Lead proof-of-concept execution with domain experts as needed.
