Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) in California seeks an automotive design engineer to design and engineer body structures and advanced packaging for concept programs.

You will translate engineering requirements into 3D design guides and create innovative technical concept proposals while ensuring feasibility and cost alignment. You will collaborate with global teams, manage multiple design tasks, and communicate results to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of automotive engineering experience (studio experience preferred).
• Deep understanding of vehicle architecture, engineering feasibility, and production constraints.
• Excellent communication in English and Korean.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer body structures and advanced packaging for concept programs.
• Create technical concept proposals to drive new design solutions.
• Translate requirements into 3D design guides considering feasibility, cost, and regulatory constraints.
• Ensure proposals align with brand identity and production standards.
• Support cross-functional teams and communicate results to stakeholders.
• Organize and manage 2D/3D production data and conduct concept analyses with simulations and prototypes.
