A Day in the Life
When your shift kicks off, you’re the go-to expert for keeping transfer and line dies running at peak performance—whether they’re in the press or on the bench. You’ll move seamlessly between diagnosing issues, executing die changes and builds, and dialing in quality to exactly what the print calls for. Alongside a tight-knit press team, you’ll set up tooling, chase down root causes with 5-Why problem solving, and leave every station safer, cleaner, and more efficient than you found it.

What You’ll Tackle
- Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and optimize transfer and line dies—both in-press and out-of-press.
- Perform precise machining and tooling operations using tool room equipment.
- Partner with press teams on setups and efficiencies to hit posted performance targets.
- Follow and champion safety procedures and protocols.
- Apply root cause analysis (including 5-Why) to drive quality and throughput.
- Hold responsibility for maintaining product quality to print specifications.
- Work overtime as required to meet customer demand.
- Carry out wastewater handling responsibilities following completion of required environmental training.
- Promote Lean manufacturing—5S and Kaizen—in daily work.
- Support company goals via participation and completion of Continuous Improvement action plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- Proficiency interpreting Blueprint GD&T for dies, details, and part prints.
- Strong troubleshooting ability to resolve day-to-day operational issues.
- Comfort using computers and productivity interfaces (e.g., control panels).
- Ability to interpret CMM or gaging data and adjust tooling to meet customer quality requirements.
- 5+ years in metal stamping, prototype, tool and die build, or die repair.
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance to help protect the customer’s product and the environment.
- Thrives in a fast-paced production environment.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or college coursework preferred.
Physical & Work Environment
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping, and repetitive motions.
- Excellent manual dexterity; able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs frequently.
- Manufacturing environment with continuous exposure to noise.
