Job summary

Jiffy Lube International seeks a General Service Technician in Kansas City, MO. You’ll service guest vehicles, participate in our training program to gain certifications, and support Team Car Care through hands-on automotive tasks and customer-focused service.

Responsibilities include oil changes, fluid checks, tire inspection, safety compliance, and precise documentation. This entry-level role offers growth, benefits, and a path to advanced technician positions at a nationwide service chain.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 months of customer facing experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Previous experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Effective communication skills to interact with guests and teammates.
• Strong work ethic with a positive attitude; independently motivated, dependable, and a team player.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform bending/squatting.
• Willingness to work in varying temperatures, loud environments, and around exhaust fumes.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and some holidays.
• Commitment to safety protocols and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Promote teamwork to deliver on time and accurate guest care during all operating hours.
• Provide excellent guest service and communicate clearly about guest vehicles.
• Keep the service center clean and presentable.
• Guide and mentor junior and mid-level automotive technicians.
• Check oil level and communicate with teammates.
• Ensure proper tire pressure and inflate accordingly.
• Inspect and refill fluid levels as necessary.
• Complete vehicle inspections and document all work performed.
• Install a new oil drain plug and oil filter; lubricate fittings as needed.
• Report safety issues to management and adhere to all policies.
• Perform various manual tasks for extended periods (lifting, standing, bending, squatting).
