Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a General Service Technician in Delaware to perform basic automotive services including tire mounting, balancing, oil changes, and inspections while delivering excellent customer service. You will help keep the tire and service area clean and may advise customers on needed services.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Passion for career as an automotive technician.
• Eager to learn and competitive drive to succeed.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive issues including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Continuously learn new technical information in formal training sessions to stay current with automotive technology.
• Change engine oil and filter.
• Install and perform tire maintenance.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other small bulbs.
• Repair flat tires.
• Install wiper blades.
• Stock and unload tires.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management informed of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and adhere to safety policies.
