Job summary

Mavis Tires & Brakes is hiring full-time General Service Technicians in the Slidell, LA area. This role offers competitive weekly pay, a weekly incentive, and paid on-the-job training as Pep Boys becomes part of the Mavis Tire family.

Technicians perform essential tire services and basic maintenance, with opportunities to advance into roles such as Alignment Technician, Automotive Mechanic, or Service Manager. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on automotive environment
• Have a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality service
• Previous automotive experience is a plus, but not required. Paid training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires
• Performing flat tire repairs
• Completing oil and filter changes
• Checking and topping off vehicle fluids
• Performing basic vehicle maintenance and inspections
• Identifying visible tire and maintenance concerns
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Following established safety and service procedures
• Helping ensure quality service and timely completion of customer vehicles
