Job summary

Ed Morse Automotive Group in Geneseo, IL is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our team. You will perform maintenance and repair work following dealership standards and provide clear explanations to customers.

Carry out diagnostics on engines, electrical, transmission, brakes, and A/C, and estimate labor times. Continued training and staying current with evolving technology are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid driver's license.
• Minimum 3 years of experience.
• ASE Certified.
• Team oriented and focused on customer service.
• Familiar with shop equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Willing to undergo background, DMV screen, and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair work as specified on repair orders.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems per specifications.
• Provide accurate labor and time estimates for repairs.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers in plain terms.
• Expand technical knowledge through formal training.
• Inspect and test vehicles and document findings.

Ed Morse is currently seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Performing maintenance and repair work as specified on repair orders with efficiency, following dealership standards.
• Diagnosing and repairing vehicle systems, including the engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning, according to specifications.
• Providing accurate labor and time estimates for additional repairs.
• Clearly explaining mechanical diagnoses and necessary repairs to service advisors and customers in a non-technical manner.
• Continuously expanding your technical knowledge through formal training sessions to stay current with rapidly evolving technology.
• Inspecting and testing vehicles, documenting findings to ensure all necessary repairs are completed.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid driver’s license
• Minimum 3 years of experience
• ASE Certified
• Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
• Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
• Must be willing to submit to a background check, DMV screen, and drug screen
