Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a General Service Technician in Columbus, OH to perform basic automotive services and tire-related tasks while delivering excellent customer service. The role includes oil changes, tire maintenance, and assisting other technicians while keeping the shop clean and safe.

Ideal candidates will have a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or GED, and a strong interest in a career as an automotive technician. Availability for days, nights, weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Demonstrated passion for a technician career in automotive.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems (brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, electrical).
• Change engine oil and filter.
• Install and perform tire maintenance.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other bulbs.
• Repair flat tires.
• Install wiper blades.
• Stock and unload tires.
• Assist fellow technicians in technical activities.
• Keep management informed of mechanical repair problems.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop.
