Job summary

Performance Ford of Somerville is seeking a skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our team in Somerville, NJ. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles to ensure safety and performance for our customers.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, experience as a technician, and strong knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems. ASE certification is a plus, and you will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented shop with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience as automotive service technician preferred.
Strong knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and service bulletins.
Good communication and customer service skills.
ASE certification is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on vehicles per manufacturer specifications.
Inspect vehicles for mechanical and electrical issues and provide accurate assessments to customers.
Conduct routine maintenance services including oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and engine tune-ups.
Maintain detailed records of all service and repairs performed.
Communicate with service advisors and customers to explain vehicle issues and recommended repairs.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Stay up to date with latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
