Duties

Functions as a skilled-level technician capable of diagnosing and repairing all areas, with specialization in particular repair areas. Essential duties include:

• Performing work as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnosing malfunctions and performing repairs.
• Communicating with parts department to obtain necessary parts.
• Saving and tagging parts for warranty or customer requests.
• Examining vehicles to determine safety or service needs.
• Communicating additional work needs to service advisors.
• Documenting all work performed and recommendations.
• Road testing vehicles when required or referring to test technicians.
• Participating in manufacturer-sponsored training and staying updated on technical bulletins.
• Supervising apprentice technicians as assigned.
• Reporting machinery defects or malfunctions.
• Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and notifying service advisors of any changes.
• Keeping the shop area clean and organized.
• Maintaining dealership-owned tools and manuals in good condition.
• Complying with safety and environmental regulations.
• Operating tools and equipment safely and reporting safety issues.

Qualifications include previous dealership experience, strong understanding of the service drive, troubleshooting skills, basic computer skills, a positive attitude, ability to learn new technology, operate diagnostic equipment, lift up to 50 pounds, and a valid driver’s license with a clean record. Must pass drug testing, background checks, and MVR.
