Job summary

Dahl Automotive in Onalaska, WI is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to join a high‑volume service center. You will work with a supportive team, utilize modern diagnostic tools, and grow your skills through training.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing vehicle systems, testing components, and communicating with customers and the Service Advisor. ASE certification is preferred, and a customer‑focused attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• ASE Certification preferred.
• Experience with engine repair and electrical systems.
• Strong customer service mindset.
• Willing to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and follow dealership policies.
• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional services.
• Provide time estimates for repairs.
• Execute warranty repairs to manufacturer specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures.
• Test‑drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well informed of any additional services needed.
• Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an automotive technician.
• ASE Certification preferred.
• B‑level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair.
• Broad knowledge of new vehicle technologies.
• Ambitious, hardworking presence in a team environment.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality.
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively.
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.

• Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
