Job summary

AutoNation in Los Angeles is seeking a Skilled Automotive Technician to repair and maintain vehicles per dealer and factory standards, building customer trust through reliable service.

You’ll access factory training, OEM certification support, and clear paths to advance into Service, Sales, Management, or Regional roles across our nationwide network. Competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and vehicle purchase discounts are provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training (varies by store).
• Attention to detail.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Valid in-state driver's license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair/maintenance as outlined on the repair order per dealer/factory standards.
• Communicate with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose cause of malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make safety/reliability recommendations.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain inventory of tools not normally inventoried by Service as special tools.
• Stay current with factory bulletins and training classes.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid driver’s license

• A passion for cars and customer service

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.

• Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.

• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.

• Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.

• Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.

• Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”

• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.

• Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty

What are the requirements for this job?
