Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Senior Technician in Florida to perform vehicle repair and preventive maintenance in accordance with dealer and factory standards. You will communicate with Parts and Service to manage workflow and ensure timely updates to customers.

Candidates should have 2+ years of automotive technician experience, a High School diploma or equivalent, and relevant automotive training. A valid in-state driver's license and a commitment to safety are required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training is required and varies by store.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Valid in-state driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance as outlined on the repair order, adhering to dealer and factory standards to ensure safety and reliability.
• Communicate regularly with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer updates.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs as authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and recommend necessary services.
• Document work performed on each vehicle in the repair order.
• Maintain inventory of standard tools and stay current with factory technical bulletins and training.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid driver’s license

• A passion for cars and customer service

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.

• Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.

• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.

• Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.

• Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.

• Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician's tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as "special tools."

• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.

• Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty

What are the requirements for this job?

• High School diploma or equivalent

• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician

• Automotive technical training (varies based on store needs)

• Attention to detail

• Organization and follow-up skills

• Valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record
