AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE PORTER

The Service Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean and well-organized service vehicle area.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Current, Valid Driver’s license; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Required.
  • Ability to complete tasks independently and as part of a team.
  • Good work ethic, organized, and positive attitude are essential.
Education and Experience
  • No retail experience necessary.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent is preferred but not required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain the service vehicle lot in a neat and orderly manner, moving cars as directed by management.
  • Clean the service department drive, write-up area, and shop.
  • Keep service vehicles clean, including interior and exterior, trunks, and glove compartments.
  • Wash customer vehicles using appropriate cleaning supplies.
  • Clean engines and remove grease and other materials.
  • Apply special cleaners as needed, following manufacturer recommendations.
  • Assist technicians with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the service department.
  • Assist with property maintenance and appearance.
  • Greet customers courteously and promptly.
  • Complete all training as directed by supervisor.
  • Police dealership grounds and maintain a clean environment.
  • Wear company-approved uniform.
  • Park vehicles from service and handle trash disposal.
  • Drive shuttle as needed.
  • Complete OSHA right-to-know training and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
  • Work environment is usually loud.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and handle tools.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts and potentially exposed to hazardous materials and fumes.
