Job Description

The Automotive Service Manager, reporting to the Store Manager, will set high standards of excellence, embody our core values, and support operations in the service department. Responsibilities include creating a motivated team environment, working closely with the Service Team to improve performance through hands-on coaching, and executing store processes and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the store recruiting process by assisting the Store Manager with final employment decisions.
  • Supervise technicians and service personnel, plan and schedule duties, assign work, and follow up on completion.
  • Coach service team members on operational issues, system processes, and service standards.
  • Engage directly with customers regarding sales, service, opportunities, and adjustments.
  • Evaluate performance and productivity of service department staff.
  • Manage parts inventory and outside purchases, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure store safety, proper equipment layout, and compliance with safety procedures.
  • Supervise shop area, equipment, and team adherence to safety standards.
  • Coach personnel on wheel torqueing and proper inspections.
Qualifications
  • Outstanding leadership and store management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with mentoring skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to develop professional relationships with customers and team members.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Service Manager.
  • Proven track record of exceeding business objectives.
  • Ability to work efficiently individually and in teams.
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws and MSDS compliance.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged standing, stooping, and bending.
  • Occasional exertion of 50-100 lbs of force; frequent exertion of 10-25 lbs; constant exertion of less than 10 lbs.
  • Work at a production pace involving pushing and pulling materials.
