Tooele Motor Company in Tooele, Utah is hiring an Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer to join our growing service department. You will greet customers, document vehicle concerns, and create repair orders.

Qualifications

• Prior Automotive Service Advisor or service writer experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to explain vehicle issues and maintenance clearly.
• Organized with attention to detail to manage multiple repair orders.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with vehicle maintenance and repair needs.
• Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms and service requests.
• Create and manage repair orders using dealership service software.
• Recommend maintenance and repair services based on vehicle needs and manufacturer guidelines.
• Clearly explain recommended repairs, pricing, and service timelines.
• Communicate with automotive technicians to monitor repair progress and ensure timely service completion.
• Provide customers with regular updates on vehicle status.
• Review completed repairs and invoices with customers.
• Build long-term customer relationships through excellent communication and follow-up.
• Help achieve service department goals while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Previous Automotive Service Advisor, Service Writer, or dealership service experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of automotive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair processes.
• Ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive service department.
• Ability to multitask and manage several repair orders simultaneously.
• Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn dealership software.
• Positive attitude, professionalism, and a team-first mentality.
• Valid driver’s license.

Experience in automotive service, dealership operations, customer service, or automotive repair is a plus!
