Job description

Automotive Service Technician

Customer satisfaction is a result of your personal work habits and ethics and is of utmost importance as part of your job function.

The Service Technician is responsible for setting goals for personal service improvement and monitoring progress against customer satisfaction index numbers and production targets as provided by the Service Manager.

Responsibilities:
  1. Primary Responsibilities:
  2. Correctly troubleshoot customer concerns using the latest administrative and technical tools provided.
  3. Ensure that common courtesy is shown toward all customers you come into contact with.
  4. Act as a secondary customer greeter to customers that have not yet been acknowledged, while in the vicinity of the Service Drive.
  5. Keep up to date with all technical publications, Service Communication, and Asist terminal operations.
  6. Make every reasonable effort to ensure safe and honorable vehicle service is delivered as promised the first time.
  7. Address all original customer concerns before moving onto additional sales.
  8. Inspect every vehicle for additional sales opportunities, ensuring that the vehicle is maintained according to local area and factory recommendations.
  9. Ensure the customer's vehicle is returned as clean, or cleaner than when it arrived.
  10. Participate in any factory or in-house sponsored training programs offered to you.
  11. Complete all paperwork completely and correctly, attaching all required shop forms to the RO hard copy.
  12. Perform any other duties assigned by the Service Manager, ASM, or Group Leader.
  13. Always come to work on time, ready to work, and in a clean uniform.
Ideal candidates will have:
  • Experience in performing warranty and non-warranty inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair services on various vehicle makes and models.
  • A proven track record of achieving or over-achieving goals.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and work ethic.
  • A great attitude with a high-energy personality.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • The ability to read and comprehend instructions.
  • The ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Valid State driver's license and a good driving record.
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical aptitude demonstrated by ASE certification.
  • Technical or trade school degree preferred.
