Job summary

J & Z Garage in Elk Grove Village, IL is looking for a motivated Automotive Service Advisor to join our team. You will be the vital link between customers and technicians, ensuring each vehicle receives the care it needs in our fast-paced shop.

This role requires excellent communication, customer service, and the ability to multitask. Experience with Tekmetric or Shopware is a plus, and a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or service writer preferred.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance services.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage time in a busy shop.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience with shop management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and conduct vehicle write-ups, documenting concerns and service history
• Communicate repair recommendations and estimates clearly to customers
• Coordinate workflow between customers and service technicians
• Follow up with customers on vehicle status, approvals, and completion timelines
• Upsell and recommend additional services based on vehicle inspections and manufacturer guidelines
• Process repair orders, invoices, and payments accurately
• Maintain high CSI scores and resolve customer concerns professionally
