Job summary

Mac's Auto Repair and Tire Center is seeking a Service Advisor to greet customers, assess concerns, and determine service needs. You will research procedures and parts using Mitchell 1, ALLDATA, and Protractor & Auto Flow, create repair orders, and secure customer approvals before work begins.

As the central link between customers and the shop crew, you will review completed work, collect payments, and manage end-of-day sales.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Service Advisor in auto repair or dealership.
• 2+ years of retail sales/customer service in automotive settings.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and tires.
• Proficiency with Mitchell 1, ALLDATA and related software.
• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training.
• Excellent communication, organization and payment handling.

What You'll Do

• Promptly greet incoming customers, listen to vehicle concerns, and accurately determine service needs.
• Research repair procedures, parts, and labor using platforms like Mitchell 1, ALLDATA, and Protractor & Auto Flow.
• Create detailed Repair Orders (ROR), present estimates, and obtain customer approval before work begins.
• Serve as the central relay point between customers and technicians to ensure repairs run smoothly.
• Review completed work with customers, collect payments, and manage end-of-day sales and cash procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience as a Service Advisor in an auto repair shop, dealership, or comparable environment.
• 2+ years of retail sales/customer service experience (automotive, tire, or lube background preferred).
• Working knowledge of vehicle maintenance, tires, and standard repair procedures.
• Proficiency with automotive software platforms (i.e. Mitchell, ALLDATA) and computer sales systems.
• High School diploma or comparable vocational training.
• Strong communication, organizational, and payment-handling skills.
