Job summary

AutoNation in Florida is seeking a Senior Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance to dealer and factory standards, building trust and confidence in AutoNation as a safe, reliable care-giver for customers.

You will communicate with Parts and Service Advisors, diagnose malfunctions, conduct multi-point inspections, document work, and stay updated with factory bulletins while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years automotive technician experience preferred.
  • Automotive technical training as needed by store requirements.
  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills.
  • Valid in-state driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repair and maintenance work per repair order to dealer and factory standards.
  • Regularly communicate with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by customer.
  • Conduct multi-point inspections with recommendations to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Document all work on the repair order and maintain tool inventory as needed.

What We're Looking For
  • Valid driver's license
  • A passion for cars and customer service
What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
  • Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.
  • Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
  • Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.
  • Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
  • Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
  • Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician's tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as "special tools."
  • Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
  • Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty
