Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Senior Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with dealer and factory standards, while building customer loyalty through trust and confidence in AutoNation as a care-giver for vehicle safety and reliability. The role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs with customer authorization, and conducting thorough inspections.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician preferred.
  • Automotive technical training varies by store needs.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Valid in-state driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle repair and/or maintenance per repair order following dealership and factory standards to drive customer loyalty.
  • Communicate regularly with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs if authorized by the customer.
  • Conduct multi-point inspections and recommend safety and reliability improvements.
  • Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
  • Maintain inventory of tools not normally inventoried by the Service department and stay updated with factory bulletins.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Valid driver’s license

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
  • Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.
  • Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
  • Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.
  • Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
  • Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
  • Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”
  • Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
  • Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty
