Job summary

Germain Ford in Columbus, OH is seeking an elite Ford Senior Master Technician to serve as the Lead Diagnostic Technician. You will diagnose the shop's most challenging Ford drivability and communication issues and mentor teammates.

You will use Ford IDS/FDRS, interpret wiring diagrams, and lead root-cause analysis to ensure repairs are diagnosed correctly the first time. The role offers a high-earning compensation package and a path to technical leadership.

Qualifications

• 6 years of Ford diagnostic experience (required).
• Current Ford Senior Master Technician certification (strongly preferred).
• Exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Expert-level ability with Ford IDS/FDRS.
• Advanced module programming and configuration.
• Ability to diagnose complex drivability and performance concerns.
• Strong electrical and electronic diagnostic skills.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, scan data, network communication, and system I/O.
• Proven ability to find root causes rather than replacing parts.
• Experience diagnosing intermittent and hard-to-duplicate concerns.
• Serve as the technical leader and diagnostic resource for the shop.
• Mentor other technicians and help develop the team.

We’re looking for an elite Ford technician who can diagnose what others can’t.

Germain Ford is seeking an experienced Ford Senior Master Technician to serve as our Lead Diagnostic Technician. This is a high-level position for a technician with exceptional diagnostic ability, strong electrical and network knowledge, and a proven track record of solving difficult Ford drivability and communication issues.

Compensation

• $100,000 - $150,000 per year for highly qualified candidates (salary plus shop production bonus)
• $5,000 sign-on bonus available for a highly qualified Senior Master Technician

Compensation reflects your Ford Senior Master status, diagnostic expertise, experience, productivity, and ability to lead the shop technically.

The Role

You’ll be the technician other technicians turn to when a vehicle has a problem nobody else can solve. You will handle the shop’s most challenging diagnostic concerns, including:

• Module communication issues and network faults
• Programming concerns
• Electrical problems
• Complex drivability complaints

You’ll also provide technical guidance to the team and help ensure difficult repairs are diagnosed correctly the first time.
