Job summary

American Honda Motor Company, Inc. is seeking a research engineer to advance semiconductor sensing across R&D programs focusing on automotive technologies such as image, radar, lidar, inertial, and environmental sensors.

The role involves conducting technology sensing, assessment, evaluation, benchmarking, and translating device- and component-level insights into system-level value for automotive and intelligent mobility applications.

Qualifications

Bachelor level degree in Engineering or a related STEM field.
3+ years of relevant industry experience.
Knowledge of semiconductor industry concepts (chip architectures, CPU/GPU/NPU, SoCs).
Experience with HDL design and digital/analog/mixed-signal concepts.
Familiarity with Assembly language and HDL tools.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Assist in advanced research projects using Agile methodologies to prove hypotheses and define value.
Assist senior researchers in sensing for NA market and extract emerging technologies.
Compile sensing results and support technical direction and strategy.
Report results to department leadership and other internal partners.
Support technical teams, manage project timelines, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
Monitor emerging technologies and propose research initiatives.
