Job summary

Teamprovide in Detroit is seeking a Product Engineer to design and release seating components using CATIA V5/3DEXPERIENCE, ensuring GD&T compliance from concept through launch. You will build 3D models, create release drawings, define datum schemes, and collaborate with trim, foam, and manufacturing teams to support prototypes, testing, and DFMEA deliverables.

Candidates should have 3+ years automotive design experience and a strong track record delivering release-quality drawings within PLM

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of automotive product design or product engineering experience.
• Strong CATIA V5/3DEXPERIENCE skills (part design, surfacing, assembly, drafting).
• Solid GD&T knowledge (ASME Y14.5) and experience producing release-quality drawings.
• Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering change management.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple components to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Build 3D models and surfaces of seating components in CATIA V5/3DEXPERIENCE.
• Create and release 2D drawings with full GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and OEM standards.
• Define datum schemes and tolerances for foam, trim, and back panels.
• Support design reviews, feasibility studies, and manufacturing packaging.
• Manage changes, BOM updates, and PLM data throughout programs.
• Assist prototype builds, testing, and issue resolution.
