Job summary

NAPA Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily store operations, sales execution, and customer service while supporting the Store Manager across all functions. The role includes coaching team members, overseeing inventory and delivery coordination, and ensuring standards for a fast-paced retail environment.

The position emphasizes hands-on leadership, gap-closure on performance metrics, and development toward a Store Manager role, with occasional overtime and keyholder

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in automotive after-market industry or willingness to learn.
• Leadership experience required.
• Customer care and relationship-building focus.
• Thrives in fast-paced, complex environments.
• Knowledge of cataloging/inventory systems is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Experience in parts store/retail management is preferred.
• ASE certifications are a plus; NAPA Know How valued.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor/scheduling alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels.
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Execute opening and closing routines (security, cash reconciliation, end-of-day reporting, facility readiness).
• Handle or support administrative tasks: scheduling input, compliance documentation, performance tracking.
• Monitor core store metrics and uncover trends to drive solutions.
• Provide leadership, training and performance management for store functions.
• Support talent development and coach successors for advancement.
• Drive adherence to safety, asset protection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
