Job summary

Kia America’s Service Engineering group represents the North American customer in identifying vehicle quality concerns and developing countermeasures. The Service Engineer quickly identifies issues in the North American market, investigates them, and provides resolution to production and field vehicles.

Responsibilities include data analysis, cross-functional coordination with Korea and North America teams, and publication of countermeasures to the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, Automotive Technology, or equivalent work experience required.
• Engineer I: 0-3 years of automotive technical experience in QA or Engineering, or equivalent.
• Engineer II: 2-6 years of automotive technical experience in QA or Engineering, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the SME for quality issues in North America vehicle lines.
• Manage Vehicle Quality by identifying, investigating, and resolving product quality concerns.
• Identify potential quality issues and elevate high-priority concerns to Kia Engineering, Manufacturing, and QA teams.
• Review data sources (Field Quality Reports, Warranty, Techline, Customer Care, social media) to plan quality improvements.
• Coordinate and prepare publications (TSBs, Pit Stops) for field dissemination.
• Monitor countermeasure effectiveness and recurrence prevention through data analysis.
• Support product audits through plant and port audits and use external quality studies for improvement.
