Job summary

SMI Composites is seeking a Quality Technician to verify composite parts meet internal and customer quality requirements through in-process, final, and dimensional inspections. The role uses metrology tools and visual inspection to ensure conformance to plans and drawings, supporting CI initiatives aligned with IATF 16949 standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read engineering drawings and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspection and sampling of finished products per specs.
• Use calipers and measuring equipment as needed.
• Complete Certificate of Conformance and coordinate documents.
• Support QA Engineer with First Article Inspection Reports and PPAP.
• Record inspection results and communicate issues clearly.
• Initiate non-conforming material reports and segregate defects.
• Perform First Article inspection on production and supplier samples.
• Input data into ERP and QMS systems.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow instructions.
• Assist scheduling and assignment of final inspectors.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules.
