Cox Automotive in Illinois is seeking an Inspector Apprentice to verify vehicle information against work orders, identify damages, missing parts, and mechanical issues at intake. You will prepare documentation and perform day-end procedures with attention to safety and accuracy.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask while using inspection tools and computer systems. Overtime may be required and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Generally, less than 2 years of experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong technical understanding and good organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask, follow directions and take instruction.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and document damages and conditions.
• Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
• Set up day-end procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures.
• Write electronic condition reports (ECR).
• Conduct courtesy walk-around inspections.
• Maintain knowledge of system capabilities and relevant software.
• Adhere to safety procedures and participate in safety activities.
• Overtime may be required as business needs dictate.
