Job summary

Jobot is partnering with a leading automotive manufacturer in Kentucky to hire a Quality Engineer. The role focuses on maintaining world-class quality throughout the manufacturing process and involves close collaboration with Production, Engineering, Customers, and Suppliers.

You will lead root cause analysis, drive corrective actions, and support PPAP/APQP activities. Mentoring Quality Inspectors and supporting new product launches are also key aspects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of automotive quality engineering experience.
• Experience within automotive manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and other Automotive Core Tools.
• Experience working directly with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support customer and supplier quality activities throughout the manufacturing process.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis using 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Why.
• Complete PPAPs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and other Automotive Core Tools documentation.
• Monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
• Perform mechanical inspections utilizing CMMs, optical comparators, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Conduct supplier audits and support customer scorecards.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production to improve manufacturing quality and reduce defects.
• Support new product launches and APQP activities.
• Help mentor Quality Inspectors and Technicians while serving as a technical resource across the plant.
