Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Quality Engineer to monitor, maintain, and improve quality indicators from manufacturing shops and the supply base. You will support the objective of delivering the highest quality vehicles to customers, developing quality procedures, and addressing field/warranty issues with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Engineering with strong communication, documentation and problem-solving skills, and has manufacturing or automotive experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent with strong technical aptitude.
• Experience creating and reviewing drawings, reports, manuals, and specs.
• Ability to present to diverse audiences and communicate clearly.
• Familiarity with problem-solving tools: TBP, 8D, Fishbone, 4M, 5 Why.
• Basic PFMEA and understanding of automotive systems.
• Manufacturing background; automotive exposure is a plus.
• Experience in Lean, RCA, process, mechanical, electrical engineering and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with PPAP and ISO 9001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Quality Standards for suppliers, in-house shops, and completed vehicles.
• Ensure Change-point Management across suppliers, shops, and design.
• Provide technical support and daily problem solving for part/shop issues.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems.
• Serve as Quality Window Person to Design and provide design technical support.
• Create technical procedures and engineering reports.
• Manage field and warranty issues for the area.
