Job summary

Amsted Automotive Group in Taylor, MI, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support daily plant quality operations and monitor inspection and testing activities. You will coordinate with departments, collect data, analyze customer data, and resolve customer and supplier issues.

Responsibilities include promoting Lean principles, maintaining the QMS/ISO & IATF, and leading root-cause analyses using 5-Why/8D. The role requires reading blueprints, GD&T, and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business is preferred or required.
• 5–10 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in an ISO certified environment.
• ASQ certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T; travel occasionally.
• Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote Lean Manufacturing and support waste-elimination initiatives.
• Maintain the Quality Management System and ISO/IATF certifications.
• Lead root-cause analysis using 5-Why, 8D and APQP methods.
• Analyze SPC data and drive process improvements.
• Coordinate customer and supplier corrective actions and PPAP documentation.
• Read customer prints and GD&T; support transfer of new products to production.
