Job summary

Tenneco is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure products, processes and quality systems meet customer, regulatory and company requirements. You will support new product launches, improve production quality and ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and AIAG Core Tools.

The role involves leading audits, developing control plans, PFMEA, PPAP submissions, and driving corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why and DMAIC methodologies. Strong anatomy of GD&T and CMM inspection is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• ASQ CQE and/or CQA certifications preferred.
• IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001 Auditor Certification preferred.
• 3+ years in quality engineering, quality control, or manufacturing/process control.
• Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA.
• Experience with PPAP submissions and customer portals.
• CMM programming and inspection experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
• Support internal, customer, and third-party audits.
• Develop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, Control Plans, and related documentation.
• Lead APQP activities and support new product launches, including PPAP submissions and PFMEA development.
• Prepare and submit PPAP documentation (18 elements).
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, DMAIC, and similar methodologies.
• Serve as the primary quality contact for customer concerns, complaints, and escalations.
• Analyze quality metrics, scrap, rework, and customer complaint data to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead scrap reduction and process capability improvement projects.
• Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to improve quality performance.
• Promote a culture focused on defect prevention and customer satisfaction.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
• Program and operate CMM equipment for dimensional inspections, layout reviews, and PPAP validation
