Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Corporate Quality Engineer – Automotive in Troy, MI to partner with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers on quality issues across product development and full program lifecycles. You will focus on displays, HVAC switches, and automotive electronics, driving containment, testing, and root-cause resolution.

You should have 5+ years in automotive quality, APQP experience, and GM supplier portal familiarity.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of automotive quality experience including APQP.
• Experience with center stack displays, HVAC switches, instrument clusters.
• Background in automotive electronic components.
• GM supplier portal experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Support quality activities for automotive cockpit displays and switches.
• Establish containment at customer locations to minimize defects.
• Perform field testing, analyze data, and reduce failure rates.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement 8D/5 WHYs corrective actions.
• Hands-on software debugging, ECU flashing, and in-vehicle firmware updates.
• Travel 15–20% within USA and Mexico for GM-related quality support.
• Lead and participate in global quality meetings and reporting.
