Minth Tawas Manufacturing in East Tawas, MI is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead manufacturing quality initiatives within a fast-growing automotive group. This hands-on role involves APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans and close customer collaboration to ensure parts meet stringent quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in manufacturing quality, knowledge of roll forming, welding, GD&T, and auditing under IATF16949/VD A/ISO14001. Travel up to 20–25% may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing quality experience.
• Knowledge of roll forming, bending, welding, and testing requirements.
• Auditing certification for IATF16949, VDA, ISO14001.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints / GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers and other departments during APQP for new products.
• Create/update APQP documents including FMEA, Control Plans, and Flow Diagrams.
• Follow AIAG APQP procedures and customer-specific requirements.
• PPAP submissions and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement of scrap, process capability, and quality costs.
• Address customer concerns through corrective actions and action plans.
• Maintain QMS to meet relevant standards and customer requirements.
• Partner with production and engineering on quality issues.
• Produce quality reports and communicate to executives and customers.
• Coordinate read-across with other Minth facilities.
