Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a Quality Engineer to support quality functions and perform design documentation reviews to ensure compliance with customer requirements in our Michigan facility.

You will apply AIAG quality tools (Control Plan, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC), manage internal and external quality concerns, investigate customer complaints, and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in BS/BA is required.
• Recent automotive industry experience is required.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 quality systems.
• Experience with the APQP system.
• Exceptional communications skills.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Proven technical skills on product and process.
• Experience in program launches with automotive manufacturing plants.

Responsibilities

• Utilize core AIAG quality tools (Control Plan, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC) to resolve quality concerns.
• Manage internal and external quality concerns, fast track responses, and pareto analysis of defects.
• Investigate customer complaints as customer support.
• Assist with continuous improvement activities and SPC.
• Assist with IATF 16949 activities.
• Manage/interface with customer quality systems.
• Address supplier quality issues and manage quality hold areas.
• Create and maintain PPAP status with customers.
• Review disposition of products on hold and organize rework/sorting operations.
• Assist with resolving quality problems and implementing corrective actions.
• Create, review, and update job books to meet standards and customer specs.
• Use 8D, 5Why problem solving techniques.
• Handle customer and supplier concerns appropriately.
• Randomly audit problematic jobs and drive improvements with Manufacturing Team Leaders.
• Perform audits to support plant function.
• Supervise vendor quality control and calibration of measuring equipment.
• Follow safety regulations and enforce company safety rules.
