The North America Quality organization is seeking a Control Tower & Field Quality Engineer to support coordination of vehicle systems, project schedules, and meetings across stakeholders in the Propulsion System Group - Transmission and Driveline.

The role requires 5+ years in Product Engineering, knowledge of transmission and driveline, and strong communication, with proficiency in MS Office, Teamcenter, and GD&T. Reports to a team lead or manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in testing/validation/test method development (fixture design, instrumentation, data acquisition).
  • Knowledge of Transmission and Driveline systems and components.
  • Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
  • MS Office applications (Excel and Project); working knowledge of Teamcenter; GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate cross functional project meetings and compile project status reports; define scope and deliverables across stakeholders.
  • Lead resolution of warranty related issues including problem solving, validation, and weekly progress.
  • Lead triage of warranty claims; review calls with dealers and support client/suppliers reviews at Quality Engineering Center and manufacturing locations.
  • Establish and validate containment and permanent actions by reviewing product/process changes and updating control plans.

Job description

The North America Quality organization is currently seeking a Control Tower & Field Quality Engineer to join the Control Tower & Field Quality team (CTFQ). CTFQ Engineer is responsible for assisting in the administration and/or coordination of multiple vehicle systems including compiling project status reports, coordinating project schedules, managing project meetings, agendas, minutes and correspondence. The incumbent will report to a team lead or supervisor/manager and should have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for automotive and powertrain development. This opportunity is in the Propulsion System Group - Transmission and Driveline.

Responsibilities
  • Include but are not limited to:
  • Facilitating cross functional project meetings. Compile project status reports, coordinate project schedules, agendas, minutes and correspondence. Identify and analyze system requirements, and define project scope, requirements, and deliverables involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Lead the resolution of warranty related issues - accountable for problem solving process, proposed solution, validation, and weekly progress.
  • Lead Triage - warranty claims review, sorting claims and bucketing, review and call vehicles at dealers, support the client/suppliers review at Quality Engineering Center and manufacturing locations.
  • Establish & validate containment & permanent actions at the client's/Supplier Plants by physically reviewing the product/process changes, internal metrics and control plan update.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from accredited University.
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in testing/validation/test method development, including fixture design, instrumentation, data acquisition, etc.
  • Knowledge about Transmission and Driveline system and components.
  • Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically MS Excel and Project.
  • Working knowledge of Teamcenter.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and understanding full detail on drawings.
