Job description

Toyota Carlsbad is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Specialist to join our Service Department team. This role is crucial in maintaining the high standards and integrity of the services and repairs we provide. The Quality Control Specialist will ensure our “Repair Issue Resolution” score consistently meets or exceeds company standards. Additionally, this position will play a key role in troubleshooting and resolving repair challenges, ensuring customer satisfaction, and upholding our commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily quality control inspections on randomly selected vehicles to ensure repair standards are maintained.
• Inspect vehicles that have undergone sublet repairs to verify vendor workmanship meets or exceeds company quality standards.
• Proactively review in-progress repair work to identify opportunities for improvement and address any quality concerns.
• Perform random quality checks and road tests on vehicles near completion to ensure readiness and safety.
• Oversee sublet vendors to maintain quality control and ensure compliance with company expectations.
• Enforce company standards for quality and safety across the team.
• Maintain and order shop supplies, ensuring proper inventory levels and usage tracking.
• Understand and promote adherence to the Toyota Express Maintenance process for optimal workflow and efficiency.
• Monitor shop cleanliness and communicate improvement needs to management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years as an automotive Service Technician
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Results-oriented and committed to achieving high standards.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Adherence to company policies and procedures while supporting organizational goals and values.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required.
