Job summary

Dorman seeks a mechanical engineer to develop automotive components at our Colmar, PA headquarters. Onsite Monday–Thursday with optional offsite Fridays.

You will reverse engineer designs using 3D scanning and data, create drawings, and ensure PPAP/DFMEA compliance while collaborating with product, supply chain, and quality teams for successful launches and global supplier coordination.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering with 3+ years experience
• Associate degree with 5+ years experience
• Experience in cross-functional teams
• GD&T drafting techniques preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop automotive components and ensure compatibility with OEM specs
• Reverse engineer or improve designs using 3D scanning, CMM data, benchmarking
• Create and review engineering drawings and installation guides
• Collaborate with product, supply chain, and quality teams for launches
• Communicate with global suppliers to maintain quality throughout production
