AUTOMOTIVE PORTER/DETAILER

Detailing and helping organize our vehicle inventory are only a couple of the ways we do this. We are looking for a motivated person who is good at working on tasks independently but also works well with a team when needed. Previous dealership experience is great but not necessary. Skills & Qualifications:
  • Current, Valid Driver’s License; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required
  • Ability to complete tasks independently as well as with a team
  • Good work ethic, organized, and positive attitude
Education and Experience:
  • No retail experience necessary
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist our sales department in various ways
  • Detail and organize vehicle inventory
  • Maintain the neatness of the new and used vehicle lots, moving cars as directed by management and in accordance with display standards
  • Keep inventory vehicles clean as directed
  • Clean interior and exterior of vehicles, including trunks and glove compartments
  • Police dealership grounds
  • Wear company-approved uniform
  • Park vehicles from service
  • Clean the service department drive, write-up area, and shop
  • Empty trash
  • Drive shuttle
  • Wash service customer vehicles
  • Wash vehicles with cleaning solutions, water, cloths, and brushes
  • Clean engines to remove grease and other materials
  • Apply special cleaners to remove foreign materials, following manufacturer recommendations
  • Assist technicians in keeping the service department clean and organized
  • Assist with property maintenance and appearance
  • Greet customers courteously and promptly
  • Complete all training as directed by supervisor
  • Complete OSHA right-to-know training
  • Follow policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
  • Work environment is usually loud
  • Frequently bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and handle tools
  • Lift up to 40 pounds
  • Work near moving mechanical parts
  • Potential exposure to battery acid, gasoline, chemicals, and other toxic materials
  • Exposed to exhaust fumes or airborne particles
