AUTOMOTIVE PORTER/DETAILER

Detailing and helping organize our vehicle inventory are only a couple of the ways we do this. We are looking for a motivated person who is good at working on tasks on their own, but also works well with a team when needed. Previous dealership experience is great, but not necessary. Skills & Qualifications:
  • Current, Valid Driver’s License; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Required.
  • Ability to complete tasks independently as well as with a team.
  • Good work ethic, organized, and positive attitude are a must.
Education and Experience:
  • No retail experience necessary.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist our sales department in various ways.
  • Detail and organize our vehicle inventory.
  • Maintain the neatness and orderliness of the new and used vehicle lots, moving cars as directed by management and in accordance with display standards.
  • Keep inventory vehicles clean as directed by management.
  • Clean interior and exterior of vehicles, including trunks and glove compartments.
  • Police dealership grounds.
  • Wear company-approved uniform.
  • Park vehicles from service.
  • Clean the service department drive, write-up area, and shop.
  • Empty trash.
  • Drive shuttle.
  • Wash service customer vehicles.
  • Wash vehicles using cleaning solutions, water, cloths, and brushes.
  • Clean engines to remove grease and other materials.
  • Apply special cleaners to remove foreign materials, following manufacturer recommendations.
  • Assist technicians in keeping the service department clean and organized.
  • Assist with property maintenance and appearance.
  • Greet customers courteously and promptly.
  • Complete all training as directed by supervisor.
  • Complete OSHA right-to-know training.
  • Follow policies and procedures as set in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work environment is usually loud.
  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and handle tools.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Potential exposure to battery acid, gasoline, chemicals, or other toxic materials.
  • Exposure to exhaust fumes or airborne particles.
