Job summary

Standex Engraving Group in Fraser, MI is launching a new state-of-the-art automotive interior soft trim part facility. We seek a dynamic Plant Manager to lead all aspects of plant and production management, blending traditional operations with hands-on injection molding oversight to ensure safe, efficient production.

You will build a high-performance team, establish robust processes, and drive continuous improvement from the ground up, while partnering with leadership to meet customer deadlines

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field is preferred (experience may substitute).
• 3+ years of operational management experience in Class A soft trim automotive interior manufacturing.
• Experience with automotive plastic injection molding; start-up experience is desirable.
• Experience deploying and validating new processes in a highly automated production environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all plant operations including production, quality, safety, maintenance, and logistics.
• Partner with Leadership to develop multi-year strategic plan for part production.
• Plan, coordinate, and control manufacturing processes to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Lead and develop department leads, supervisors, and operators; foster engagement.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements for injection molding.
• Ensure adherence to IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and safety policies.
• Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to minimize downtime and scrap.
• Manage site P&L, budgeting, and identify cost-saving opportunities while satisfying customers.
• Approve maintenance work, equipment purchases, and coordinate shipments.
• Staffing, scheduling, hiring, training, performance management, retention, terminations with HR.
• Drive actions to foster employee engagement and ethical work environment.
• Communicate production timing, quality, and delivery to customers and upper management.
• Lead safety and quality initiatives and participate in culture programs.
