Job summary

Wilmington Auto Group is seeking a Parts Counterman to join the Parts department. The role focuses on selling parts over the counter, by phone or in the shop, while supporting technicians and service advisors.

A successful candidate has 3+ years in automotive parts sales, strong customer service skills, and a good grasp of parts inventory; forklift certification is a plus. This is a full-time on-site position with growth opportunities within the auto group.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certificate preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 3+ years of experience in automotive parts sales.
• Experience supporting parts department processes and maintaining accurate records.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong math skills with a general understanding of parts inventory.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• OSHA forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
• Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and exposes full product line.
• Answers phone calls, provides price quotes and other information.
• Reviews shop estimates to ensure parts ordered align with the estimate.
• Pulls and fills orders from stock and notifies when back-ordered parts require attention.
• Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
