Job summary

DARCARS of Frederick is hiring an Automotive Parts Counterperson to assist walk-in customers, answer phones, and process parts orders. You will pull stock, check availability, and help customers find the right OEM parts while offering friendly, efficient service.

This role is open to those with some experience or eager to grow, with opportunities to advance within the dealership family. A high school diploma, valid license, and ability to lift 50–70 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills to explain parts information to customers and associates.
• Knowledgeable about automotive OEM parts.
• Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds and CCC1 preferred.
• Experience working in the body shop a plus!
• Must be able to lift 50-70 lbs.
• Availability to work on Saturdays.
• Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age.
• Must have a valid driver license.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts and suggest companion requirements.
• Pull purchased parts from stock.
• If not in stock, determine availability and submit an emergency order when requested.
• Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and information.
• Assist outside sales reps with their orders.
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
• Verify WILL CALL and BACKORDER files weekly and restock as needed.
• Multitask using online programs and communicate large orders with multiple body shop clients.
• Assist Service Technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in process.
• Notify service desk and customers when parts have been received.
• Ensure parts can be charged out only when the technician presents a repair order.
• Display seasonal parts and accessories attractively.
• Keep bins, aisles and storage areas clean and labeled.
• Provide friendly, professional service to customers and co-workers.
• Offer the same high level of service to other departments and customers.
