Job summary

Sonic Automotive Baytown Ford in Baytown, TX is seeking a Parts Counterperson to sell parts over the counter, via phone, and to assist service technicians with repairs. You will help customers choose the right parts, check stock levels, and arrange daily shipments or pickups.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in parts sales or an automotive dealership parts department.
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA.
• Must be willing to undergo pre-employment compliance requirements: Drug testing, background check, MVR.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
• Pull purchases from stock and determine availability; submit emergency orders if requested.
• Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and information; assist outside sales reps with orders.
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pickup.
• Assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in process.
• Order parts not in stock after discussion with Shop Foremen.
• Issue credit for parts returned with proper invoice reference.
• Replenish inventory daily and inform Parts Manager of any issues.
• Keep current on new products and product updates.
