Job summary

Walser Automotive Group through Genesis of Kansas City is seeking a motivated Parts Counterperson in Overland Park, Kansas. You will assist technicians, customers, and teammates by identifying, locating, and selling the right automotive parts while researching catalogs and preparing quotes.

Maintain inventory, process orders, and coordinate with service staff to keep repairs moving, delivering friendly, knowledgeable service in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Automotive parts, retail, wholesale, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with automotive parts catalogs, dealership management systems, or Tekion a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable using computers and learning new systems and technology.
• Team-first attitude with the ability to work independently when needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills and accuracy.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist internal and external customers with identifying, locating, and purchasing the right automotive parts.
• Research parts using electronic catalogs and dealership systems, preparing accurate quotes, orders, and invoices.
• Partner closely with Service Technicians and Advisors to ensure parts are available when needed to keep repairs moving efficiently.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional service to retail, wholesale, and internal customers.
• Communicate proactively with customers and team members regarding parts availability, order status, and potential delays.
• Receive, inspect, organize, and stock incoming parts orders accurately and efficiently.
• Pull and prepare parts orders for technicians, retail customers, and wholesale deliveries.
