Job Description

The Painter is a critical position in our production shop environment, responsible for keeping the production paint line moving vehicle units through the paint booth, balancing time efficiency and quality.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Clean and wipe down vehicles
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Inspect all vehicles and parts scheduled to be painted
• Maintain painting equipment for proper performance
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, mixing area, and paint booth
• Mix paints and primers to exact specifications as per paint manufacturers
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality and on-time delivery
• Review repair orders prior to beginning work on vehicles
• Follow high-quality standards to minimize defects and exceed company standards
• Keep track of vehicle schedules to ensure timely delivery
• Complete all painting processes according to company requirements
• Prepare vehicles by lifting, sanding, taping, masking, and cleaning prior to painting
• Prime, seal, and jam replacement parts while maintaining cost efficiency
• Handle materials safely and dispose of them properly, adhering to OSHA and EPA standards
• Communicate effectively with team members and management
• Participate in ongoing training such as I-CAR ProLevel and industry-required courses
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas daily and weekly
