What you will be doing as an Aircraft Parts Painter:

You can expect to prepare, and spray paint a variety of aircraft parts. Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Preparation of aircraft parts: check parts to ensure they are clean and not damaged before hand-sanding surfaces, then masking and priming.
  • Select and adjust spray gun per instructions while mixing paint according to specifications.
  • Painting various aircraft parts: use painting techniques (e.g., spray paint, dip paint) to coat all crevices with primer or paint based on specifications.
  • Carefully inspect parts to ensure no dirt, dust, or foreign objects are present before baking in oven.

What you need to be successful:

  • High School education, GED, or Bronze Level WorkKeys certification.
  • At least one year of manufacturing spray painting or related experience.
  • Experience with polyurethane, Hexamine chromium, and various paints is helpful.
  • Attention to detail and ability to read paint conditions (wet, dry, blotchy) to ensure efficiency.
