Job description

Truestone, an Akima company, is seeking an Automotive Painter to join our team in Tobyhanna, PA. We invite dedicated professionals to apply and become part of our outstanding team.

Responsibilities

• Paint various surfaces, including the interior and exterior of mobile and stationary equipment, fittings, furnishings, machinery, where appearance and surface protection are crucial.
• Prepare surfaces, mix paint, and apply prime, intermediate, and finish coats using spray guns.
• Utilize gloss, semi-gloss, and specialized paints, enamels, varnishes, stains, lacquers, and shellacs.
• Protect surrounding areas and adjust ladders and scaffolding as required by specific tasks.
• Maintain painting equipment properly.
• Apply tar-like undercoating to the undercarriages of equipment.
• Coat surfaces in hard-to-reach and cramped spaces as needed.
• Work involves standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring positions.
• Work is primarily indoors in well-lit, heated, and ventilated shops, with some outdoor work.
• Be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, and potential cuts or bruises.
• Wear safety gear such as aprons, respirators, gloves, and safety glasses as required.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a NACI clearance.
• Pass a pre-employment physical and annual physical thereafter.
• Lift, carry, and set up equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Experience controlling high-pressure blasting hoses (up to 100 psi).
• Alertness to recognize malfunctions in sandblasting and safety equipment.
• Ability to work wearing protective suits and respirators.
• Prolonged standing, stooping, bending, walking skills.
• Ability to work inside booths that may be hot during summer.
• Availability to work First, Second, and Third shifts as needed.

Physical Demands: Lift, carry, and set up equipment/components up to 75 lbs.
