About the Opportunity:
The Program Planning & Option Code Management Specialist supports product implementation activities. They manage option code changes, update product overview documentation, and track program planning milestones. This role acts as a critical interface between Product Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain, Production, and Logistics teams to ensure successful vehicle changes with minimal supply chain disruption.
The position requires strong analytical skills, expertise in option code management, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to maintain alignment with master program timelines and production requirements.
What You'll Do:
Program Planning & Product Implementation
- Coordinate product overview and option code changes for trial and series production.
- Align implementation activities with Master Program Timing and production milestones.
- Maintain PEM dates and documentation timing within established schedules.
- Support model year changes and vehicle program launches using structured planning.
- Conduct buildability analyses to ensure production readiness for vehicle configurations.
Option Code Management
- Analyze option code logic and documentation changes, including Boolean logic relationships.
- Execute code changes in DIALOG and related systems to minimize plant impacts.
- Monitor configuration changes and manage development throughout the product lifecycle.
- Coordinate KEM processing alongside Engineering and Product Documentation teams.
- Ensure timely, accurate implementation of sales order configuration changes.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with Sales organizations to implement vehicle-level changes accurately.
- Interface daily with Supply Chain, Logistics, Production Planning, and Engineering.
- Resolve option code and capacity bottlenecks affecting production programs.
- Lead stakeholder discussions to solve conflicting program requirements.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze PBK and forecasting data to drive production and supply planning.
- Generate vehicle reports using Type Class, Baumuster, and option code data.
- Utilize databases and reporting tools to assess configuration change impacts.
- Deliver clear, actionable insights to stakeholders and management.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Professional background in supply chain management, production planning, logistics, or program planning.
- Proven experience managing vehicle configurations, option codes, product documentation, or manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated success collaborating in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within automotive manufacturing plants
- Prior experience working directly with Mercedes-Benz AG and/or Mercedes-Benz U.S. International (MBUSI).
- Direct exposure supporting vehicle launches, model year changes, or product lifecycle management (PLM).
- International business or global manufacturing experience.
- Professional proficiency in the German language.
